Dr. McCarty grew up in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to joining BMC in June, 2015 Dr. McCarty was in medical practice at the Highland Clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dr. McCarty practices “patient-centered medicine.”  She combines her exceptional problem-solving skills with a compassionate and accessible bedside manner.  She makes use of the most up-to-date resources for evidence-based health care and uses her characteristic good humor and excellent communication skills to keep her patients informed and involved with their medical care.
