Andrea Burgess, MD, FACOG
About Andrea Burgess
Board-certified OB-GYN specialist Dr. Andrea Burgess was born at Lutheran Hospital in Lakewood, Colo., and spent her childhood in the foothills outside of Morrison, Colo.
Reflecting on her journey into medicine, Dr. Burgess shares, “In 6th grade, I considered becoming a doctor or pursuing marine biology, although I was initially scared of the ocean! But from that moment, I felt a calling towards healthcare that never wavered.”
Dr. Burgess finds inspiration in working with her medical team to guide patients through challenging circumstances. She emphasizes that every individual involved plays a vital role in the patient’s journey to wellness, whether it’s a successful vaginal delivery or post-surgical recovery.
She believes in a patient-centered philosophy where healthcare is a team effort between the patient and the physician. “Each person’s story is unique, and care needs to reflect that,” she says. “Everyone deserves a chance to thrive.” Her approach to patient care focuses on clear communication and understanding of treatment plans among her team and patients. “I believe that patience is key in fostering a supportive environment,” she explains.
Apart from her dedication to patient care, Dr. Burgess is a safe and accepting ally to LGBTQ+ members of the community. She also describes herself as a staunch advocate for reproductive consent and choice.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Burgess enjoys being outdoors with her family (husband and two pups), hiking, and camping. She also likes running, yoga, cruising on her e-bike, and growing vegetables in her garden.
