What to Expect During your Visit to Boulder Medical Center
Boulder Medical Center continues to closely monitor COVID-19 updates from the Centers For Disease Control (CDC), Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, and Boulder County Public Health. We appreciate your cooperation and these and other other precautions we have implemented at all BMC clinics.
Travel and Your Doctor Appointment – If You Have Recently Traveled to Areas of Medium or High Risk
To optimize patient and staff safety, Boulder Medical Center recommends that patients consider rescheduling or converting their non-urgent/emergent BMC appointment to a telemedicine visit. Not doing so may result in being screened out and denied access to BMC facilities.
To determine your destination risk level, please visit the COVID Risk Level site for local, national, and international locations. Locations in the U.S. are indicated down to the county level and consist of red, orange, yellow, and green risk levels.
Boulder Medical Center recommends that patients returning within 14 days from areas designated in Red or Orange reschedule or convert your appointment to a telemedicine visit.
Resources
Guest / Visitor Restrictions
To help reduce exposure, we ask that those who accompany a patient to their Boulder Medical Center appointment wait outside of the building. This applies to all patients except minors and those requiring additional care assistance. We ask that only one parent accompany a minor and that all other family members, including siblings (when appropriate), remain outside.
Patient & Staff Screening
Boulder Medical Center performs multiple screenings of patients at the time of scheduling, on pre-visit calls, and upon arrival to the building. Staff members are also screened daily.
If a patient is found to be untruthful to BMC providers or staff regarding their exposure, risk, or travel, they will be dismissed from the practice upon discovery.
Masking and Social Distancing Requirements
Boulder Medical Center requires universal masking for all patients and staff during their entire visit to all Boulder Medical Canter clinics. If not wearing a mask upon arrival, patients will be given a mask and asked to wear it properly while inside our clinics
Please wear your own mask. To conserve Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical staff use, we ask patients to wear their own masks when visiting our facilities.
Masks for children: Due to shortages of PPE masks for children, we emphasize that they are equipped with masks from home when visiting our clinics.
Social distancing: All of our clinics accommodate social distancing. We ask that all patient remain at least 6-feet apart while visiting Boulder Medical Center.
Caution: Masks with Valves
We no longer allow patients to enter our facilities wearing masks with valves. These masks do not block transmission of COVID-19 because they allow exhaled air and droplets to escape. If patients and guests come to Boulder Medical Center wearing one of these masks, our COVID screeners will give them a surgical mask to either replace, or wear over their valve mask.
