Kathryn Hoch, MD, FACOG
About Kathryn Hoch
Dr. Kathryn Hoch has been practicing in the northern Denver area since 2002 and joined Boulder Medical Center in 2018.
Dr. Hoch chose a career in medicine because she considers herself a “people person” and enjoys getting to know her patients and their families. She also likes the challenge of keeping up with the latest innovations and treatments in the always changing medical field.
As an OB-GYN physician, Dr. Hoch appreciates working in a medical specialty that is a perfect match for her professional interests and skills. “Obstetrics and gynecology is a nice mix of primary care and surgery, something that most other medical fields don’t offer,” she said. “OB-GYN allows me to care for women during their pregnancy, deliver their babies, and see them regularly all the way through menopause. You really get to know people well when you travel through major life events together!”
Dr. Hoch’s philosophy of care empowers women to make their best healthcare decisions. “I believe in sharing as much information as possible with my patients so that they can make informed choices about their treatment,” she explained. “I am not here to tell them what to do or what I would do.”
In an era when many women use the Internet to gather information about their health, Dr. Hoch considers the physician a vital resource for real-world experience, an engaged and impartial perspective, and practical information that is tailored to a patient’s unique conditions and needs.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Hoch loves spending time with her husband and two daughters, ages 7 and 9. In addition to volunteering at her daughters’ school, she enjoys cooking (sometimes!), swimming, and biking. “I love living in Colorado with the beautiful mountains and sunshine!” she said.
