About Jon Rubright

Dr. Jon Rubright is a native Coloradan, born and raised in Hygiene, Colo. His interest in medicine surfaced while observing his brother, a paramedic, working in Yellowstone National Park. Dr. Rubright had the opportunity to ride along with his brother in various emergencies, and this exposure sparked his interest in pursuing a medical career.

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Dr. Rubright earned a medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He returned to Fort Collins for postgraduate medical training.

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Rubright is particularly interested in connecting with his patients and their families. “I enjoy getting to know my patients, establishing continuity of care, and really listening and learning their life stories over time.” His care philosophy focuses on working with his patients to prevent illness and find solutions for their health challenges.

He also appreciates the problem-solving aspects of medicine. “No two patients are the same, and no two solutions are the same. That’s what makes medicine so interesting daily,” he explains.

Before joining Boulder Medical Center, Dr. Rubright practiced rural family medicine in northwest Montana. He and his family are happy to be back in Colorado and living near family on the Front Range. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking, skiing, and mountain biking. Dr. Rubright is also interested in history, cooking, and western contemporary art. Special happiness is reserved for grandchildren and Border Collies.
